My cousin is getting married tomorrow and I thought these yoga poses would help to relieve any stress or anxiety she may have. I've titled these poses Bridal Yoga: for the stressed out bride. Practice these poses before walking down the aisle. (Child's pose, downward facing dog, standing forward bend, salutation seal)

Dear Soccer...I miss you
Oh how I love this sport. Its not very entertaining to watch but playing it is so much fun! I started playing when I was 5 and its been almost a year since I last played. Almost 20 years of this sport and it never gets old. I remember being a little 5 year old kindergartener, no space between my shin gaurds and shorts and my only goal was to run and kick the ball. Then I got more serious about it in 1st grade and I knew, I can do this for a long time! I learned so much from it...team work, not giving up, dedication, hard work. It did me good, even now.
I know that I blog about yoga a lot but nothing compares to the health benefits and amazing cardio work out this sport provides. Seriously, check out these legs...
With the womens World Cup just ending recently, I've been thinking more and more of how fun it is to get out there on the grass, rain or shine, and just run, compete, and sweat. Will I ever play again? I hope. But my soccer days may be over.

Healthy Summer Sweets
Mixed berries with homemade whipped cream
Dark Chocolate: the higher the percentage the better it is for you, also antioxidants.
Apple slices with cottage cheese (or yogurt) sprinkled with cinnamon
There are a lot more options for healthier desserts and Summer is a great time to stock up on fresh fruits and a lot of water! Raspberry and strawberry picking is also fun ways to be outside and motivation to make something of the berries you worked so hard to pick.Take advantage of it and enjoy feeling better this season!

Finally!!
I've only been doing yoga for 4 months and to push myself I decided to attempt a higher level class (cardio flow yoga) which is now my favorite! Of course I was so lost at the beginning...at first I would pretend to know what the teacher would have us do but I would also look around to make sure I wasn't doing it all wrong. The good thing about this more rapid moving yoga class is that you learn more challenging poses faster. Well, when the teacher first had us attempt the handstand pose I was shocked and scared...so I opted for the alternative pose (lay on my back with my legs up the wall) I was so scared. My biggest fear was that I would fall on my head. But I saw all the perfectly fit people around me effortlessly balance themselves into this pose which made me think I can do it too if I tried. After a weeks weeks I said, I WILL do this, so I tried (and tried) and failed. BUT last night I finally did it!
You can do it...here's the step by step:
